SOS Kaulkhed, Akola is associated with British Council for the last 5 years through Global Participation Program. It is a powerful, enjoyable and exciting way of bringing global issues into the lives of young people, teachers, families and local communities. SOS Kaulked, Akola is the only educational group in the region to receive a Cluster Program with British Council in UK.

Connecting Classroom

Projects helps to build lasting partnership between cluster of schools and develops trusts and understanding between young people. Working together in the same project on two sides of the globe is hugely exciting and can lead to extremely beneficial outcomes. Projects undertaken through these collaborations include linking local communities globally and water conservation with the Cam Everland Primary School, Environmental Destruction with long levens Junior School, Comparing Village Events and Waste Disposal, Pollution and Global Warming with Horsley C of E Primary School, Exchange of Seed.

Development under varied climatic conditions, sustainability, developmental sensitivity, Shaskespeare’s play with Cirencister Deer Park School, - understanding art and culture of India and UK with Trupp Primary School, similarities and differences between the history and literature of the religions, similarities and differences between the preaching’s in Holy Bible and Bhagwad Gita, Folk Culture of both the countries, reasons behind World War II and the effects of the war on socio-economical and political status of the countries with St Marks’ Church of England Junior School.

International Activities

  • Harvard Model United Nations

    The core learning element of this program is an academic simulation of the United Nations organized by the prestigious Harvard University. The main objective of this simulation is to expose the students to some of the pressing issues across the world and to the intricate challenges of being a world leader. This is a unique and creative simulation, popularly known as Model United Nations, in which the students are engaged in role-play with each of them being assigned the posts of diplomats and country representatives in the UN and its various organs. SOS Kaulkhed, Akola participate in this unique program every year.

  • A group of students visited Raproa College, Auckland, New Zealand to learn more about their educational & cultural practices .The students stayed in families and hence got a firsthand feel about the family structure, international values & culture.

  • Students got a firsthand experience of Rocket Launching technology and a feel of the actual conditions inside a space shuttle. It indeed was an enjoyable learning experience. The students also participated in the youth exchange programme in USA.

  • The students of MGS also participate in the Sports and Cultural Activities held internationally. Students have visited Nepal, Poland and Sweden to represent in sports like Tennis, Cricket, Fencing and Football. Students visited Japan for presenting a performance on Indian Classical Dance. They also participated in various International Festivals conducted in India to promote awareness about the Indian Culture.

National Activities

  • Visit to Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh

    SOS Kaulkhed, Akola of Schools had organized an educational tour for students called ‘Students Educational and Cultural movement of Ladakh’ (SECMOL). Students of SOS got a chance to interact with Mr Sonam Wangchuck, the founder of SECMOL. Such experience results in holistic development of child. The parents also appreciated this initiative.
